And across the street from her is a Lutheran church, spearheading counseling, recovery, and benevolence programs. Downtown there’s a Methodist congregation, famous for her homeless shelter and soup kitchen, feeding hundreds of hungry stomachs daily. In the center of the city is a Church of Christ, renowned for her Christian private school, daycare, and nearby Bible camp. No other church in Unity has a missions program, each congregation instead pulling their resources together to support missionaries in Africa, China, India, the Middle East, and across the world. ![]() And in the west is a Nazarene church, which has an extensive missions program. A powerful place where residences of Unity cycle through, praying to God about the city, about her homeless, her orphans, her hungry, her sick, and any other need that they can think of. In the east is a Pentecost church, with a room that always has someone praying in it twenty-four seven. They are the only church buildings in the entire city which have gyms inside of them, used to host sporting events for the local homeschool group, weddings, dinners, and even housing visitors who are passing through. In the northern and southern parts of the city are two Baptist churches. Like many cities in the United States, Unity houses several church buildings and denominations however, unlike other American cities, there is something different about her. ![]() But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift (Ephesians 4:1-7). ![]() There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
